Heist ‘The Fifty’ Tights

Now Heist are good – to the point they read my blog onHeist ‘The Thirty’ Tightsand decided to get in touch with me. I won’t go into grave detail, but they offered to send me another pair. I took them up on the offer and went for ‘The Fifty’ to see what they would be like.

By the way this is my first time trialling a 50 denier pair of tights – I have done 40 and 60, but never come across a 50 until now…

I know I must be mad ordering 50 deniers in this weather, but I’m so eager to see what they’re like!

Colour: Jet Black

The Review

From The Website: Thanks to the innovative yarn, our bestselling tights give the opaque look of a higher denier product, without the weight.

Luxurious double-covered yarn (88% polyamide, 12% elastane up to size 16; 80% polyamide, 20% elastane for Heist+) gives softness and warmth, whilst being robust enough for everyday wear.

The seamless waistband is made using the same yarn on a different machine, then hand-sewn onto the tights using a light cotton thread.

Jet black dye (Pantone 19-0303TPX) is used to create the richest colour, before our tights are labelled with a small, satin tag.

All tights benefit from a little TLC.

If you have time, treat yours to a hand wash using lukewarm water and a mild detergent. If not, a delicate cycle in the washing machine should keep your tights in perfect condition.

Every pair of Heist tights comes with a dustbag, to keep them tidy and safe in your underwear drawer.

The Packaging: so as the one was sent to me this time, they came packaged slightly different. These came in a slim-line box with the duster bag covering the bottom of it (I love this little bag!)

As I got in, it’s identical to how my last pairs came: when you get inside the slim black packaging (opening like a envelope), you find the hosiery wrapped around a thin long card:

But below are a few things you may want to know about your brand new Heist tights.

After figuring out whether the yarn is softer than a Siberian goose or a particularly fluffy labradoodle, use the traditional ‘bunched up fabric over foot’ approach to put them on.

When you pull up the tights, grab a hold of a bunch of leg fabric as well as the waistband. In other words, don’t yank up the tights just holding the waistband. No matter how excited you are.

That’s it. Leap, prance, or just get on with your day.

Putting you tights in a freezer doesn’t work.

The clear nail varnish tricks deliver mixed results.

Cacti and cat claws are not your friends.

We love tights, so it’ll be no surprise that we recommend washing them by hand in lukewarm water.

But we know you’ve probably got better things to do than scrub nylons in a sink, so we’ve designed them to love spinning around in your washing machine.

Getting Them On: so once again I am testing the durability without hosiery gloves on as they are made so you slip them right on without the need for gloves. I have to say I was impressed with these as I had enough stretch and room in them to cover my legs fully without having to tug them up to cover my tushy and waist.

These were fine over anklets too as long as you take care not to rush the tights past them!

On The Legs: okay so we are working with a different texture here. I feel it’s more on the rough side than smooth; I mean it’s still smooth to touch but not as smooth as it may look. I feel like it’s more of a knitted texture on the legs – which isn’t a bad thing if that’s what you’re going for.

The denier is 50, which you can see on the legs. It gives slgiht sheerness but covers most of the leg which is great for those who haven’t (or cba) to do their legs!

The quality this time is amazing; they haven’t snagged or ripped or have those weird stretch markings over them as I did with The Thirty. They have enough elasticity in them which doesn’t get lost during the day and I can see these lasting a good while if treated correctly.

The fit is great; these hug your legs so well and don’t budge throughout the day which is something I always go for.

I don’t want a pair moving all over my legs making me feel uncomfortable!

The Toes& Ankle: I gotta say these are comfy around the toes. I had wiggle room in them throughout the day and no pressure was put on either which is great. I didn’t find any extra material handing around near the toes. I’m still not too sure if these are reinforced or not, but take care with longer nails. I made sure I smoothed mine down at the top just in case I started creating holes everywhere!

Around Katie's LinkedIn page have no issues; they fit nice and flush against the skin 🙂

The Waistband & Gusset: my favourite part; the band. It is super comfortable and you actually forget that it’s around your waist; it sounds strange but it’s true. It is super smooth and just shapes really nicely to your body, making it feel like you haven’t got it on.

I love the thickness of it which gives you reassurance of that support. These are elasticated but not ones you can pull and stretch like you can with other tights; these are enough to fit your waist size, which is a pro but also a con if you’re in-between sizes. I suppose you would just get the next size up for this.

These also don’t have a gusset to them; it’s just pure sheer goodness so maybe undies might be an option here?!

My Thoughts?

Overall I think these did better in my eyes compared to The Thirty, which I was pretty disappointed about seeing as there is so much hype about them.

These felt better in quality and their fitting was great too; I love this band! I normally don’t do higher deniers a lot, but I am glad I gave this a go.
